CapeTown Trader is an American company with significant interests in South Africa. We not only love traveling to this beautiful and diverse country but through our trade with South Africa we have discovered some of the world’s most fascinating people, exciting new artworks, and great cuisines. There are the great textile art we obtain from Alexa Kirsten in Wellington,. These have been snapped up by libraries and parents for the joy each original work epitomizes. Chaloner makes delicious gourmet foodstuffs – jams, preserves, tapenades and chili’s from a magnificent French country manor in the breathtaking Stellenbosch mountains. And of course biltong and dry boerewors (farmer’s sausage) are one of our biggest sellers,. They originated with the Voortrekker’s, pioneers who dragged ox wagons through the country into the hinterland. Settlers would dry the meat in the sun as they traveled. Today every South Africa is addicted to bitong and dry sausage (droe wors) and so are increasing numbers of Americans. We’re proud of doing business with this diverse and fascinating country. Our sales contribute toward creating jobs, and also in some instances help combat HIV and AIDS. Thank you for visiting our site, we hope that as time develops we become firm friends.
NoMU is an original South African food and lifestyle concept by Tracy Foulkes. Tracy Foulkes is the heart and soul behind NoMU. Her passion for flavour inspired her to start the company in December 2000 in a very small, front room of her home in central Cape Town. Her love of spices and the stylish, uncomplicated way she loves to cook is very much evident in the NoMU range of products. Tracy has created each and every NoMU product in her own home kitchen, with both her own and your health close at heart. NoMU is designed with an active, healthy and outdoor lifestyle in mind, and is about making healthy eating fun, easy and convenient!
